Duties and Responsibilities
- Cataloguing recordings and making them available when requested
- Coordinating work in the laboratory to ensure efficient use is made of equipment
- Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly
- Ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned and that chemicals, drugs and other materials are appropriately stored
- Maintaining and repairing equipment and laboratory apparatus
- Preparing equipment and chemicals before practical lessons
- Record keeping for students’ practical sessions, tracking methods, results
- Maintaining water quality for within the culture systems.
- Assisting trainees with their practical lessons.
- Any other duties that may from time to time be assigned
- To liaise with academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans for practical sessions
Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Aquaculture
- 3 years’ experience
- Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and integrity
