Responsibilities
- Coordinating the training of functional assessment officers and teaching of functional assessment subjects
- Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good citizenship within the Division
- Lead in the implementation of quality management system and risk management strategies with regard to sound financial management system within the Division
- Coordinating the assessment of children with special needs and disabilities
- Referring children assessed to service provision points
- Guide on the placement of children with special needs and disabilities in educational programmes
- Initiate functional assessment training for assessment staff
- Monitor Identification and placement of children with special needs and disabilities in schools and institutions
- Coordinate awareness creation, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities
- Coordinating community outreach services to create sensitization awareness on disabilities
- Spearhead the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of a robust performance management system within the Division by providing oversight of the delivery of the annual performance contract and the strategic plan
Qualifications / Work Experience
- Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Principal Assessor or in acomparable position;
- Bachelors Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Masters Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing
- Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution
