About this role
Overall Responsibility
- To provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients by delivering continuous assessment, advanced patient monitoring, life-support interventions, and evidence-based nursing care while ensuring patient safety and quality clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU/HDU.
- Monitor patients\' vital signs and promptly respond to changes in clinical condition.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products safely and accurately.
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Assist in emergency procedures, resuscitation, and advanced life support interventions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
- Implement infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate and support patients\' families regarding treatment and ongoing care.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of critical care equipment and supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuous professional development.
- Uphold professional, ethical, and regulatory nursing standards at all times.
Job Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
- Registered nurse with a valid Nursing Council of Kenya practicing license.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certification;
- At least two years\' experience in the ICU, HDU, emergency department, or a similar critical care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
