About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, producing, and managing video content for the University's communication, marketing, branding, academic, corporate, and digital media needs
- Providing professional videography services for University events, activities, programmes, conferences, ceremonies, projects, and other institutional engagements
- Developing video concepts and production plans, including storyboards, scripts, shot lists, schedules, and other pre-production requirements.
- Undertaking video editing and post-production, including colour correction, sound editing, graphics, animation, subtitles, transitions, and other enhancements as required.
- Producing digital video content for the University's website, social media platforms, digital campaigns, promotional materials, documentaries, advertisements, and other communication channels.
- Collaborating with the University Webmaster to develop, optimize, and publish engaging multimedia content for the University's digital platforms.
- Keeping abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digital content production, videography, video editing, and social media content creation.
- Supporting live and digital coverage of University events and activities, including recording, streaming, and preparation of content for timely publication where required.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or University management.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Film and Video Production, Film Production, Journalism, Mass Communication, Multimedia, Digital Media, Communication, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Good graphic design skills and the ability to create digital artwork for websites, social media, events and institutional campaigns.
- Strong video editing and post-production skills.
- Strong videography and cinematography skills, including professional camera operation, composition, lighting and visual storytelling.
- Applicant must submit a portfolio or showreel demonstrating their experience and competence in professional video production, both short form and long form video content.
- At least three (3) years' relevant professional experience in videography, film production, digital media, multimedia production, content creation or a related field.
- Experience working in a university, media organisation, corporate communications environment, advertising/creative agency or other institutional setting will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification or additional training in videography, cinematography, digital media, graphic design, animation or related areas will be an added advantage.
- Born again Christian and active member of a local church.
