About this role

Salary: Up to KSh 50,000 per month

We are seeking a reliable, organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the day-to-day human resource functions of the organization. The successful candidate will assist with HR administration, employee records, attendance and leave management, payroll support, recruitment and general employee-related matters.

This is an opportunity for an HR professional with practical experience who is looking to further develop and apply their skills in a dynamic working environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration

  • Maintain and update employee records, contracts and personnel files.
  • Assist in preparing HR letters, memos, reports and other documentation.
  • Support the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Attendance and Leave Management

  • Monitor and maintain employee attendance records.
  • Track leave applications, balances and related documentation.
  • Prepare attendance and leave reports as required.

Payroll Support

  • Assist in compiling payroll information, including attendance, overtime and other relevant payroll inputs.
  • Ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Respond to routine employee payroll queries and escalate complex matters where necessary.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Assist with job advertisements and initial screening of applicants.
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates.
  • Assist with the preparation of onboarding documentation and induction of new employees.

Employee Support and HR Coordination

  • Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR-related queries.
  • Assist in employee welfare and engagement activities.
  • Support communication between HR and other departments.
  • Assist with other HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in HR, preferably covering HR administration, employee records, payroll support and recruitment.
  • CHRP (K) qualification or ongoing studies will be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of HR administration, payroll processes and employment practices in Kenya.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy, discretion and attention to detail.
