About the role:
- Strathmore School is seeking a qualified and motivated Mathematics teacher to join its Upper Primary team. The role involves delivering Mathematical Activities within the Competency Based Education (CBE) curriculum, with a focus on engaging learners in active, problem-solving-based learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the CBE curriculum and syllabus.
- Prepare learning materials and maintain professional teaching documents.
- Plan and implement effective classroom management practices.
- Support learners in bridging learning gaps through targeted learning support.
- Engage learners in active, hands-on, and creative problem-solving activities.
- Support co-curricular activities through sports coaching or club patronage.
- Contribute to the school's mentorship programme for learner character development.
Essential qualifications & experience
- A Diploma or University Degree in Education with Mathematics as a teaching subject.
- A minimum of C+ at O-Level (KCSE or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of teaching experience.
- Valid TSC (Teachers Service Commission) registration.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
- Proven experience preparing learners for the Kenya Primary Schools Education Assessment (KPSEA).
