REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council.
- A Master of medicine in General surgery from a university recognized by Kenya medical practitioners and dentists Council.
- A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Specialist Recognition Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council
- Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative capacity and initiative in the general organization and management of the patients in the area of specialization.
- Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing operations for appendicitis, bowel obstructions, and acid reflux.
- Fixing abdominal, groin, and hiatal hernias.
- Performing biopsies, lumpectomies, and mastectomies.
- Utilizing laparoscopy or robotic-assisted technology to reduce recovery times and post-operative pain.
- Removing skin cancers, cysts, and other lumps.
- Leading hospital surgical teams to treat trauma and acute conditions
- Training, supervising and mentoring medical officers (intern) and other students.
