Qualifications.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;
- At least nine (9) cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at grade of Senior Planning Officer or in a comparable position in the Private or Public sector;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Economics and Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Statistics, Economics and Finance or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Management Course
- Membership to a relevant professional body;
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result;
Duties and Responsibilities
The Principal Planning Officer is responsible for the following functions;
- Implementing NLAS strategic plan and service charter;
- Coordinating baseline surveys on service delivery;
- Undertaking feasibility studies on NLAS programme and projects;
- Coordinating the development of departmental work plans and aligning budget and strategic objectives and goals;
- Coordinating performance contracting and reporting;
- Coordinating project prioritization process for MTEF in accordance to budget calendar; and
- Providing input in the preparation of strategic plan.
Remuneration will be in accordance with NLAS Salary Scale:
- NLAS GRADE 5. Kshs 128,570 x 10,755 – 139,325 x 10,755 – 150,080 x 10,755 – 160,835 x 10,755 – 171,590 x 10,755 – 182,345 x 10,755 – 193,100 x 10,755 – 203,855 p.m.
