About this role

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of technical or project sales experience within construction, steel structures, PEB, cold chain, panel systems, HVAC, or building services.
  • Experience working with established construction companies is preferred.
  • Proven track record in closing turnkey, design-and-build, or project-based contracts, beyond conventional product sales.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan construction sector, project lifecycle, tendering, BOQS, costing, margins, and contract negotiations.
  • Established network among contractors, developers, architects, quantity surveyors, consultants, or other construction stakeholders in Kenya.
  • Strong ability to interpret architectural/structural drawings and understand technical requirements, with sound commercial and consultative selling skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit, MS Project, CRM, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of NCA, NEMA, occupational safety, and applicable cold chain/food safety requirements is an advantage.
  • Valid driving licence and passport, with willingness to travel extensively across Kenya and East Africa.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales pipelines across construction, warehousing, logistics, cold chain, agro- processing, FMCG, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.
  • Build relationships with contractors, developers, architects, quantity surveyors, consultants, EPC firms, and end users to generate and secure projects.
  • Drive technical solution sales for PEB structures, cold rooms, insulated panels, roofing/trussing, and related design-and-build solutions.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess project requirements, support value engineering, and work with technical teams to develop suitable solutions.
  • Lead BOQ preparation, costing, proposals, tenders, negotiations, pricing, and contract discussions while maintaining approved margins.
  • Coordinate project handovers and remain involved through execution, managing client relationships, variations, collections, and repeat business.
  • Track pipeline, order bookings, revenue, margins, collections, competitor activity, and market opportunities through regular reporting.
  • Support identification and onboarding of suitable subcontractors, fabricators, erectors, refrigeration contractors, and other project partners.
