Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, one MUST:
- Have Higher Diploma in Ultrasography and Diploma in Radiography and Imaging;
- Be registered and hold a valid annual practicing license from the RPB; and
- Have Professional membership by Society of Radiography in Kenya.
Job Description
An officer at this level shall:
- Perform ultrasound scans for obstetrics (pregnancy), gynecology, abdominal, pelvic, and small parts (thyroid, testes);
- Conducting vascular, heart and musculoskeletal imaging;
- Drafting preliminary diagnostic reports and communicating urgent "red flag" findings to the referring physician or radiologist;
- Prepare patients for various procedures and maintaining patient privacy;
- Follow general safety and infection control protocols; and
- Perform routine maintenance of the ultrasound machine and various probes.
