Job Purpose To supervise on-site and off-site meter testing, calibration, and verification activities, ensuring accuracy of customer meters, reporting and early detection of faulty or tampered with meters PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF METER TESTING TECHNICIAN (TEST BENCH/ON SITE TESTING SUPERVISOR) Supervise meter testing teams in conducting calibration, verification, and accuracy checks on customer and bulk meters. Plan and coordinate on-site meter inspection programs to detect underregistration, tampering, or malfunction. Maintain accurate records of all tested, calibrated, and replaced meters, including certification and reporting. Analyze testing results and provide recommendations for meter management strategies to reduce commercial losses. Monitor and maintain meter testing bench and equipment Train staff and create awareness on correct meter handling, sizing, installation, and maintenance Train meter testing operators on proper use of testing equipment, calibration standards, and fraud detection techniques. Prepare monthly and periodic reports on metering accuracy, identified metering irregularities, and commercial loss reduction progress. Any other duty as maybe assigned by supervisor ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma of Science or Technology in civil engineering, water engineering or Instrumentation or related field from a recognized learning Institution.
